1. What are your opening hours?
We are open from 0730am – 1800pm, we are closed on bank holidays and also 3 days a year for staff training – these days are communicated to the parents at the beginning of each year.
2. How much notice do I need to give before my child can attend?
Depending on the age of your child, we can often arrange a pre-visit and then a normal attendance pattern almost immediately depending on staffing levels and room occupancy.
3. What is your settling in procedure?
We offer two pre-visits before a child starts. The first one is an hour long and is where you meet your child’s key person. This is an opportunity to go through your child’s routine, dietary requirements, medical conditions, family culture and traditions as well as filling out paperwork and permission slips. The Second one is 2 hours long and is where you leave your child to have a little play and get to know us.
4. Can you accept vouchers or HMRC account payments?
As an Ofsted registered nursery we are able to accept all forms of childcare vouchers and HMRC remittances.
5. Can I drop off and pick up at any time?
You can drop off and collect your child when you like, however, we do encourage all children to be at nursery by 0900am, as this is when we begin our main activities.
6. What is a typical daily routine?
We open at 07:30 am
08:00am – 08:45am Breakfast.
09:00am Self Registration of the nursery day begins,
09:20am – 10:00am –Freeplay
10:00am -Snack time
10:20am – 11:30am – key person activities/outdoor play,
11:30am – 12:5pm – Lunch time,
12:15pm – 13:45pm – sleep time/quiet time,
14:00pm – Snack time,
14:20pm – 15:30pm – key person activities/outdoor play,
15:30pm – tea time.
16:00 – 18:00 – free play/outdoor time/ pick up time.
The day routine will have changes dependent on teaching regimes, events and festivals and our extracurricular activities such as Martial Arts, theatre trips and nursery outings.
7. Can you cook vegan food for my child?
The nurseries can cater for almost any dietary requirments, please ask when you visit the nursery.
8. Does my child have to attend the same days every week?
Yes, children do need to attend the same booking pattern every week. This is because of staffing and ratio requirements. Please speak to the nursery manager to discuss your requirements.
9. What are the staff ratios?
The legal requirement for staff ratios are –
0-2 years (Freshers) – 1 carer to 3 children
2-3 years (Sophomores) – 1 carer to 4 children
3-5 years (Scholars) – 1 carer to 8 children
10. What is the maximum number of children you can take care of at once?
It depends on the site, the rooms and the childrens ages.
11. Do the children stay in the same room all day?
No, the children use their rooms as home bases and for routine practices such as snacks and meals. The children spend time moving around the nursery into the construction room, art room or into the outdoor areas.
12. How much notice do I need to give when leaving nursery?
The terms and conditions on the contract for placement is 60 days. This accommodates changes to staffing levels and allows spaces to be offered to other parents.
13. Do I have to pay if my child doesn’t attend nursery?
Yes, if your child is absent at nursery due to sickness or holiday these days are still chargeable.
14. Can my child do a one off extra day?
Yes. We can offer one off extra days as long as we have space for your child on that day. Extra days are charged and are added onto your following month’s invoice.
15. How will I know what my child has done at nursery?
At the end of the day we will feed back to you to let you know how your child has been and what they have been doing at nursery. Parents also have constant live updates throughout the day on our ‘Famly’ app. Parents can message staff and contribute to their child’s learning this way too. Parents and families can also follow us on Facebook to see the range of experiences and activities our children participate in.
16. What is included in the cost?
All food, nappies, wipes, formula and cow’s milk.
